Considering a plant based diet? Already a vegan or vegetarian? If the answer to either of these question is yes, Vegetarianism Explained is an essential read. Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, author of Gut and Psychology Syndrome and creator of the GAPS healing protocol, guides readers through a deeply researched exploration into the value of plant vs. animal foods, explaining how they each impact our digestion and overall wellbeing. Along the way, she effortlessly translates complex scientific concepts in a way we can all understand, as when she offers a fascinating, detailed description of how animal and plant foods are each digested in the human body. In her quest to give her readers the clearest possible understanding of how to feed the body to sustain optimal vitality, she covers a wide range of topics:
- A comparison of health benefits in vegetarian, vegan, and omnivore diets.
- The best fasting methods for healing and health.
- Where our food comes from and how it’s produced.
- How to eat in harmony with your body’s needs.
- How to introduce young children to the wonderful world of nutritious food.
What we eat is one of the most important decisions we make, so inform yourself with science rather than emotions. Vegetarianism Explained will help you connect your lifestyle choices with how well you do (or don’t) nourish your body.
