What causes coronary heart disease (CHD)? Most people think they know the answer: Butter. Eggs. Meat. Fat. This is what we’ve been told for decades…but is it the truth? This question is at the very heart of Put Your Heart in Your Mouth by Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride (author of Gut and Psychology Syndrome and creator of the GAPS healing protocol).
Through relentless marketing and political pressure, powerful commercial interests have been making a profit from anti-fat and anti-cholesterol propaganda at least as far back as 1953. This is when the basic tenets of the infamous Diet-Heart Hypothesis were first proposed. By the time scientists all over the world proved it wrong, the theory had already become entrenched in the way Americans think about heart disease. And even today, there are strong political, marketing, and commercial machines who share a vested interest in keeping it that way.
These are the challenges that Dr. Campbell McBride takes on in Put Your Heart in Your Mouth. She delivers a death blow to the myth of the Diet-Heart Hypothesis with her thoughtful yet forceful explanation that cholesterol is not the enemy but an integral and important part of our cell membranes. The truth of the matter is that conventional medicine doesn’t know what causes atherosclerosis—or how to cure it.
Put Your Heart in Your Mouth explains the true cause of atherosclerosis—as well as how to prevent it and reverse it. If you’re worried about cholesterol or avoiding eggs and other healthy foods because of misinformation, read this book and share it with the ones you love.
