This essential book was designed by Mark R. Anderson to be a self-guided course on human nutrition as taught by the legendary pioneer in nutritional research and education Dr. Royal Lee. The chapter headings, subheadings, and extensive keyword lists were all carefully chosen to show the intimate—and largely ignored—connection between our soil, our food, and our health. Everyone knows nutrition depends on the quality of the foods we grow and eat. If you’ve ever wondered what determines that quality, this book is for you.
“The wisdom of Dr. Lee, expressed through these sixty-six articles, is presented easily and equally for the homemaker, the farmer, the doctor, and the scientist. These authoritative discourses reveal that simplicity is an inherent component of authenticity. But ‘simplicity’ does not mean simplistic; rather, the message here is elegant in its grasp and scope of the subject of human nutrition.”

From Amazon Customer Reviews:
“‘From Soil to Supplement’ is definitely a five star book. While it isn’t the cheapest book around, it is worth every penny. It is a compilation of short articles on nutrition. It discusses synthetic vs. natural vitamins, pasteurized vs. raw milk, refined vs. whole grains, the affect that soil quality has on the food grown on it and so much more. While, for example, we may know that whole grains are better for our health than refined ones, can we give a convincing statement as to why this is so? I have read numerous healthy diet books and this is one of the best around. It is packed with common sense nutritional advice and gives an in depth understanding of the foods that our bodies were created to function on and exactly how this works. The book is well written and easy to read. Even though the articles were written in the 1950’s and early 1960’s the wisdom contained in this boook has never been more desperately needed. Some things are timeless.”
