We celebrated George Washington’s Birthday on February 22. He was the first President of the United States of America. This brief review of his life is taken from The American Story, a book series by David and Tim Barton.
At age 21 he was given the command to lead the negotiations with Native American forces and French army commanders. He was the commander to lead the Virginia Regiment that captured Fort Duquesne. Prior to leading our nation, he was nominated to be the commander of the colonial army by John Adams. As commander he established victory for our nation’s independence. Washington added the words, “So Help Me God” to the Presidential Oath of Office.
George Washington was the only president who was elected unanimously.
After riding out on Mount Vernon during a cold rain, Washington felt sick and soon had trouble breathing.
It appears that George Washington was killed by his doctors. The doctors were doing the best they could with the knowledge they had but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t true.
Washington’s friend and physician, James Craik suggested blood-letting and relieved 12-14 ounces of blood. Medical science at the time thought diseases and sickness were issues of the blood. Calomel, a toxic mercury chloride compound, was given. Thirty-two ounces more of blood was then withdrawn and a dose of poisonous emetic tartar that induces bowel flushing was administered. All total, two-and-a-half quarts of blood were taken from Washington’s body in 13 hours, approximately 40% of his blood. This amount of blood loss causes “exsanguination” (death by loss of blood). From this, “it appears to be the unfortunate conclusion that the doctors killed George Washington.” (George Washington’s Terminal Illness: A modern Medical Analysis of the Last Illness and Death of George Washington.”
While bloodletting is no longer acceptable, the question remains as to how to stay healthy naturally by building the blood. Studies show that following chiropractic spinal adjustments, there is a 48% increase in white blood cell count which increases immune action, as well as a release of cortisol which reduces inflammation. There is a release of neurotensin that stimulates the release of metabolic hormones of the body along with oxytocin that works to maintain immune homeostasis. Utilizing chiropractic spinal adjustments and Standard Process Immuplex will help maintain your natural immune response and resistance.
