Welcome to “The Royal Principles of Health,” written by Dr. Michael Dority and presented by Selene River Press. This fascinating series is based on the 33 principles of chiropractic identified by R.W. Stephenson, DC, PhC, in his 1927 classic Chiropractic Textbook. Dr. Dority calls these the “Royal Principles of Health” and invites you to learn how these foundational tenets illustrate the forces of universal intelligence that guide and determine our existence.
A Glutton for Punishment, or a Glutton for Success?
Royal Principle #31 states: “Interference with transmission in the body is always directly or indirectly due to subluxations in the spinal column.”
The human body is a glutton for healthy function. In everything it was created to do, it wants to do with a ravenous hunger for divine order and success. Our body has vested in it a functional design that is controlled and regulated by our inborn, on-board computer, the central nervous system. The human brain is capable of processing 100 billion reactions per second. Of these processes, gamma waves are the fastest, moving between 30–80 hertz. With the highest frequency oscillations in the brain, gamma waves are associated with high levels of thought and focus, and they promote happiness, concentration, cognition, and working memory. Gamma waves even boost the brain’s immunity. When gamma wave activity is low, we become a glutton for punishment. Low gamma waves result in memory problems, learning disabilities, and mental blocks.
Nerve cells communicate to each other by releasing neurotransmitters, or chemical messengers, over their synaptic terminals. Calcium ions cause these neurotransmitters to release into the space between the nerve cells (called the synaptic gap). This activates the receptor proteins located in the nerve membrane, which either excites or inhibits actions over the nerve pathways. A response happens. Our brain then talks to our body over the network of thousands of nerve pathways traveling through our spine. These messages are relayed up to our brain and processed by the billions every second. Through these transmissions over the nerve, life is expressed, and health is made manifest. Now, if this mechanism of life energy is blocked and the brain cannot talk to the cells of our body, a symptom arises to alert us that something is not right.
Subluxations of spinal vertebra are a physical representation of the cause of disease. Principle #31 in R.W. Stephenson’s Chiropractic Textbook tells us: “Interference with the transmission in the body is always directly or indirectly due to subluxations in the spinal column.” Good and proper transmission of nerve impulses is paramount for all of us to express 100 percent of our health.
A simple analogy I taught my patients is this: if you instruct your son to mow the yard, he has two choices—do it or don’t do it. His choice brings either blessings or curses. The brain is always instructing the body to respond to its landscape. When the body responds favorably, health is expressed and grows like a beautiful, flourishing yard in our humus being. If there is a failure to communicate, the body becomes a humus dying, expressing symptoms and fatigue. Having symptoms is like having a yard full of weeds. It doesn’t look nice, smell nice, or live up to its designed ability physically, biochemically, or emotionally.
Facts tell the story. As of August 2022, we spend $12,530 annually for every man, woman, and child in America on sickness care. This amounts to 4.1 trillion dollars, and 90 percent goes to the treatment of chronic conditions. As it is said, “Reap what you sow.” In other words, I must sow what I should sow if I would reap what I should reap. When we sow the seeds of health, we reap what we should reap. Those seeds of health come from the knowledge and leadership of the natural laws of health that our gamma waves plant in our brain. As an individual thinks and acts on those thoughts, they manifest those thoughts in the body.
Without adequate levels of calcium and protein in our diet, our brain synapses and neurotransmitters become humus dying. The result is an expression of sickness and disease in our humus body. This lack of calcium and protein can create “interference with the transmission” of nerve energy from brain cell to tissue cell and back to brain cell. Lack of calcium and protein weakens the structural integrity of our muscular-skeletal system, predisposing our body to a myriad of spinal and joint subluxations, muscular weakness, and altered nerve-signal transmission.
Do we spend $12,530 on those health- and life-promoting seeds of chiropractic care and Standard Process whole-food nutrition to improve our own lives and our patients’ lives? Actions speak louder than words. Our actions are made manifest by and through our gamma waves, and our gamma waves need calcium and protein. Americans consume a staggering 20,000 tons of aspirin each year. Is a lack of calcium and protein causing humanity to have a “bad day”? Is that bad day covered over with aspirin?
Let’s become patriots of the true causes of health. A patriot is one who honors and protects the heritage, proclamations, and decrees of our natural health forefathers. They were the true patriots of the natural causes of health. Let’s all take up the flag of natural health. Let’s destroy any interference to the expression of natural health. Add to and strengthen your gamma wave production with a diet of natural protein, especially meats and eggs. Along with protein powders and energy bars from Standard Process, continue offering support with the following SP supplementation:
- Nutrimere: supports and provides the building blocks for protein metabolism.
- Protefood: boosts protein metabolism and collagen formation.
- Calcium Lactate and Cataplex F: both products support nerve and structural tissues of the body.
- Neurotrophin PMG: supports those gamma brain waves for healthy nervous system function.
Some things to think about:
- Is there interference to your body’s expression of health?
- Are you a “health glutton”?
- Are you facing a critical health condition in your life? What are you doing about it?
“Damn the consequences, give me the pen.”
